The more eagle-eyed amongst our readership may well have noticed there has been no strip for a couple of weeks.

Well, fear not dear fans, we’re just letting the dust settle after the recent episode with the vikings (we’ve had to clean up, they made such a mess you know). A new adventure is in the offing, it is being crafted as we speak. It’s going to be a longer affair than hitherto attempted but we’re confident it will be worth the effort.

After a long sea voyage, Larry The Longboat finally reaches land – ‘Huh!’.

Not knowing where they are, the Viking horde disembarks and makes its way inland – welcome to Blighty!

‘Who are you?’.

‘I’m Max, I was macarooned on this island some time ago. Any chance of a lift?’.

‘I don’t see that being a problem, but you’ll have to take your chances with this bunch. I suffer them, it is my lot in life’.

The Vikings were an advanced sea-faring race – as evidenced by the SatNav towards the prow of the ship. Max is glad of the lift and the bracing sea air is doing him the world of good – he thinks.

‘Are we there yet? ‘

Larry – Larry The Longboat is long-suffering. All he wants to do is put into port, any port and have his keel overhauled.

The sun beats down, only a simple breeze ruffling the leaves of the palm tree under which Max sits, what little hope he did have slowly ebbing away.

But wait, what’s this on the horizon? Could it be? or is it just a figment of his imagination? Yes, it’s definitely a ship, he can see the sail. It’s… got a big head!
